Key Stage 2 Cross Country

On 29th September, a team of 23 children from Y3 to Year 6 represented Firthmoor Primary School at the Darlington Cross Country Competition.  To be chosen as a team member, children were invited to compete in cross country trials against other children in their year group, prior to the competition day.

There was a lot of excitement on the bus as the team made their way to the fields behind Eastbourne Sports Complex, and this enthusiasm continued throughout the whole competition.

Depending on the age of the child, they had to run between 1700m and 2300m.  All the children were a credit to the school and gave 100% in their race.  Miss True was so impressed by the children’s determination and positive attitude of all the children who took part. You were ALL fantastic.

There were many impressive runs throughout the afternoon of racing.  However, a special mention should go to Covenant in Year 4 who positioned in the top ten and has won herself a place at the Tees Valley Cross Country Competition on Wednesday 12th October, 2022. Well done Covenant!
