Andrew Swanson Visit
On Thursday 7th March to launch our world book day in classes Y1VM and Y2/3HI, we spoke to an author called Andrew Swanson who read us 2 of his story books he has had published. The books were called ‘The Centipede with Too Few Feet’ and ‘The Glower of the Glen’.
After he read us his stories he answered some of our questions.
Joanie asked ‘What is your favourite book? He replied The Blue Banana but he also said he liked any books by Roald Dahl.
Kayden asked ‘How long does it take you to write a book?’ Andrew said that some ideas can take 10 minutes but then it can take weeks or months to bring all the book together.
His illustrator for the books was a friend he had worked with on Cbeebies
Poppy asked How many books have you written?’
Skyla asked ‘When did you start to enjoy writing stories?’ The author thought this was a great question and said he first liked writing stories when he was at primary school.
After the session had finished Kareem said ‘I liked listening to the stories by a real author’
and
Suffiah said ‘ I enjoyed the part in the ‘The Glower of the Glen’ when the monster was hiding in his cave!’
Yousef said ‘ I liked it when the mouse showed his big muscles’
