Darlington SEND Strategy
Darlington PCF are teaming up with key stakeholders to develop the new Darlington SEND strategy.
The strategy will detail the priorities for supporting children/young people with SEND and their families living in Darlington. It will also provide details of how those priorities will be achieved and what difference this will make to children and families in Darlington.
The key areas identified as possible priorities are;
- Being as healthy as possible
- Getting the right education, schools and learning
- Being part of your community
- Family life and growing towards independence
- Employment, training and real opportunities
- Darlington, where we live and our environment.
It is vital that the voices of children, young people and their families feed into this strategy. Our aim is that families in Darlington can relate to the strategy, be heard within it and ‘own it,’ and that the strategy is not something developed ‘for us,’ ‘about us!”
