Y5 St Aiden’s Science Trip
Recently, some of Year 5 visited St Aidan’s CE Academy to take part in a Science lesson. They had a brilliant time learning about separating materials, linking to their current Science topic. While at St Aidan’s, the children learnt about some of the skills they may need in secondary school to take part in practical investigations. They practiced using forceps, filter paper and funnels to separate a mixture of different materials. They were also able to watch Miss Terry from St Aidan’s using a Bunsen burner to separate a salt water solution, by boiling the solution and evaporating the water. All of Y5LJ thoroughly enjoyed their visit to St Aidan’s and are hoping to visit again in the future.
